How do I find suitable tenants? We have a large number of prospective tenants wishing to rent in Lewes, Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath and Sussex who either visit our offices, telephone or see our prominent internet or Newspaper advertisments. We also keep an extensive mailing list of most of the major companies in the Sussex area who are likely to bring staff into the area either permanently or on a training programme, companies like American Express or Sussex University, CAE, Gatwick staff. In addition, we advertise on a regular basis in the local newspapers, Internet web sites and our own web site. Our prominent eye catching offices ensure a constant stream of Prospective Tenants through our doors. Our aim is to find a reliable tenant at the best market rent and within a reasonable period of time. Prospective tenants will usually be taken to view suitable properties accompanied by one of our professional negotiators. They are then interviewed and references taken up. We do not generally let to Students, people who are in receipt of housing benefit or to large groups of sharers. The type of references we are looking to take up include; Employers references Previous Landlords Reference Previous Letting Agents Reference Character references County court judgement search Credit rating search We are very careful on the references we take up, but in addition we ask ourselves would we be happy if this particular tenant was moving into our own home? If we would not be happy with the tenant, even if the references may be suitable we will not proceed further with them. The vetting process is vital to ensure a successful letting and renting which Stanley & Partners have the expertise and experience to enhance the success of finding a suitable tenant.
