What happens about the service accounts? As part of our service in the management of your property we will write and inform: gas, electricity, Council tax, water, sewerage and oil supply to be transferred into the tenants name. You are responsible for informing your bank/building society regarding any proposed Tenancy agreement to gain their consent if your property is subject to a mortgage. If your property is a flat or maisonette your lease will indicate if it is necessary to obtain the freeholders consent to let the property. It is your responsibility to insure the property and the contents. Most insurance policies only apply to owner-occupiers so its very important to contact your insurance company and find out if your cover is affected. Tenants are responsible for insuring their own belongings. For all Landlords and Tenants - Mail you should make arrangements with the Post Office for your mail to be forwarded to your new address and also BT.
